Taft's passion for sport was evident from young age. She had been raised in a sports-oriented family. While in school and at college, she also played at various levels. However, her goal was to be a sports broadcaster. Taft's broadcasting career started with Fox Sports North in the role of a sideline journalist and regional affiliate when she completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism at Boston University. Alongside covering sports, she was also a social media contributor and was a host for many games. When she began working for Fox Sports 1, her team was comprised of News and Highlights, Taft was bumped. Taft was a reporter at FS1 and covered numerous prestigious competitions. In parallel, she was an official college sideline reporter. Soon after that, Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt were appointed to lead the college football coverage. In 2018 her most notable accomplishment was being requested to serve as moderator for the cult TV series Skip and Shannon: Undisputed, a post that she has held to this date. Recently, she was spotted hosting her own series CFB: Inside Slant and as the pit reporter on the Discovery show Battlebots.
